Beastieball doesn't stop at single-player. You can use SportNet to play against other gamers in online matches and send your extra Beasties to play in Away Games to gain experience. You can also bond with your Beasties over meals and boost specific stats at the Gym. And if you need to heal, you can warp to any Railhouse on the map.
