The Annual Fall Food Drive: A Celebration of Giving and Community
2024-11-14
For several consecutive years, the Westside Food Pantry has been the recipient of the remarkable annual Fall Food Drive. This event brings together a vibrant mix of hot rides, delicious food, and a positive atmosphere that truly makes a difference.

"Fueling Hope with Every Can: The Westside Food Pantry's Fall Food Drive"

Hot Rides and Good Vibes

For the fourth year in a row, the Westside Food Pantry was at the heart of this exciting event. The presence of hot rides added an extra element of excitement, while the good vibes filled the air. It was a day to celebrate not only our veterans but also to support those in need.

With a live DJ providing the beats and local food and craft vendors offering a variety of treats, people had a wonderful time. The petting zoo also brought a touch of joy, making it a truly memorable experience for all.

Organized by Gabriel and Diana Barba

The event was masterfully organized by Gabriel and Diana Barba. Since 1991, the Westside Food Pantry has been dedicated to providing and supporting families in need across Stanislaus County. This initiative gives people the opportunity to make a meaningful donation and help those in difficult situations.

Through their efforts, the pantry has become a vital part of the community, offering a helping hand to those who need it most.

Sponsors and Community Support

One of the event's sponsors, realtor Stephanie Capote, shared some inspiring details. Las Palmas Elementary School brought in 922 canned food items this year, falling just short of last year's 1,000 items. However, the community support was still overwhelming.

"This is the second time I've collaborated with Las Palmas School, and the students worked incredibly hard throughout October, advertising and collecting donations," Capote said. "I am also grateful for the additional support from Patterson's Garden Club and the F.D.E.S. Portuguese Hall of Patterson."

Drop-off Locations and More

Invest in Me is playing a crucial role by providing drop-off locations to collect non-perishable items and canned goods. These locations have been set up to make it convenient for people to contribute. The drop-off locations include:

Village Skate Shop, 1040 W. Las Palmas Ave., Suite A-2

Empresarios Barber Shop, 208 I St.

Blue Floral, 30 S. Del Puerto

The Boutique at Serendipity, 32 N 3rd St.
