EL MUNDO: Un día de afluencia y celebración en Madrid

El patio de la Real Casa de Correos de Madrid, sede del Ayuntamiento de la capital, se convirtió ayer en un lugar de atracción. No es una simple afirmación; la importante afluencia de personalidades de todos los ámbitos lo demuestra. Hoy, se llevó a cabo la entrega de los XXII Premios Internacionales de Periodismo, y el interés se reflejó en la cantidad de medios acreditados y en la presencia de 250 invitados distribuidos en mesas bautizadas con nombres de premiados de anteriores ediciones.

Asistentes de Distinción

La Reina Doña Letizia encabezaba la lista de asistentes. Durante toda la comida, interactuó animosamente con el director de EL MUNDO, Joaquín Manso, y con el premiado Xavi Colás, sentado a su izquierda. En la misma mesa se encontraban el ministro de la Presidencia, Félix Bolaños; la presidenta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso; el alcalde, José Luis Martínez Almeida, y el jefe de la oposición, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. El protocolo y la pericia garantizaron una separación entre cada uno de ellos, con una persona de separación y casi cortafuegos. Celebrando 35 Años

Hoy, el periódico celebraba sus 35 años de vida. Un festejo doble que no sería posible sin que, en 1989, unos periodistas valientes, encabezados por Pedro J. Ramírez, se decidieran a hacer un diario nuevo. El primer director del periódico estuvo en la cita acompañado por su esposa, Cruz Sánchez de Lara. También el ex director Francisco Rosell estuvo presente en la ceremonia. Ana Palacio, ex ministra de Exteriores, compartió mesa con la directora general y consejera de Unidad Editorial, Laura Múgica.

El Equipo de EL MUNDO

En las palabras del director y en el recuerdo de todos estuvo muy presente Víctor de la Serna. El periodista, también fundador de EL MUNDO, fue durante años miembro del jurado de los premios y falleció hace unas semanas. Su viuda, Cristina Sandoval, y sus tres hijos, Juan, Cristina y Cecilia, fueron la mejor representación que De la Serna pudo tener en la comida.Unos invitados que fueron atendidos por parte de la redacción de EL MUNDO. Allí estuvieron el director adjunto, Vicente Ruiz; el adjunto al director, Francisco Pascual, y el jefe de Información, Roberto Benito. También los subdirectores Silvia Román, Carlos Segovia, Esteban Urreiztieta, Jorge Bustos, María González, Leyre Iglesias y Gonzalo Suárez, además de jefes de sección y redactores que cada día trabajan para que este diario siga cumpliendo y celebrando.
