สมาคมมิได้ละเลยการพัฒนานักกีฬาทีมชาติ. จึงได้ตั้งคณะกรรมการพัฒนาทีมชาติไทย โดยมีผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิในวงการฟุตบอลมาช่วยกัน. ยังจะมีการพูดคุยกับสมาคมกีฬาฟุตบอลต่าง ๆ ในอาเซียน ถึงการเปิดโควตาพิเศษให้นักเตะไทย หรือ ในอาเซียนด้วยกันเอง. เหมือนที่ เจลีก ญี่ปุ่น ที่มีโควตาพันธมิตรให้นักเตะในอาเซียน สามารถลงเล่นเป็นโควตานักเตะท้องถิ่น.
