เทศบาลเมืองสะเดา จังหวัดสงขลา ได้รับรางวัลเครือข่ายเมืองสุขภาพดีระดับภูมิภาคเอเชียใต้และตะวันออก (SEAR) จากกรมอนามัย และองค์การอนามัยโลก ในการประยุกต์ใช้การประเมินผลกระทบต่อสุขภาพเป็นเครื่องมือในการพัฒนาเมืองสุขภาพดี นายวัชชพล ปริสุทธิ์กุล นายกเทศมนตรีเมืองสะเดา กล่าวว่า รางวัลที่ได้รับถือเป็นแรงผลักดันในการทำงานในอนาคต และเป็นการยกระดับภาพลักษณ์ของท้องถิ่นให้เป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับสากล ไม่ใช่ทำเฉพาะเรื่องโครงสร้างพื้นฐานอย่างเดียว แต่ยังครอบคลุมถึงคุณภาพชีวิตของประชาชนด้วย

ความร่วมมือกับศูนย์บริการสาธารณสุขสร้างความเชื่อมั่นให้ประชาชน

นายวัชชพล กล่าวว่า การที่เทศบาลเมืองสะเดาได้เข้าร่วมโครงการเครือข่ายเมืองสุขภาพดีกับกรมอนามัย และองค์การอนามัยโลก จะช่วยให้พี่น้องประชาชนเห็นว่าหน่วยงานท้องถิ่นเป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับสากล และเป็นหน่วยงานที่พึ่งพาได้มากที่สุด โดยเฉพาะการบูรณาการความร่วมมือกับศูนย์บริการสาธารณสุขในพื้นที่ ซึ่งช่วยสร้างความเชื่อมั่นให้กับประชาชนในการเข้าถึงบริการด้านสาธารณสุขที่มีมาตรฐาน

ก้าวสู่การกระจายอำนาจสู่ท้องถิ่น

นายวัชชพล กล่าวว่า เป้าหมายสูงสุดของการเข้าร่วมโครงการนี้คือการกระจายอำนาจสู่ท้องถิ่น โดยมองว่าเทศบาลควรจะทำงานในทุกด้านที่เกี่ยวข้องกับคุณภาพชีวิตของประชาชน ไม่ใช่เฉพาะเรื่องโครงสร้างพื้นฐานอย่างเดียว แต่ควรรวมถึงเรื่องสาธารณสุข สิ่งแวดล้อม และอาชีพ เพื่อให้สามารถตอบสนองความต้องการของประชาชนในพื้นที่ได้อย่างครอบคลุม ซึ่งในปัจจุบันยังมีข้อจำกัดในบางเรื่อง แต่หวังว่าในอนาคตจะมีการเพิ่มอำนาจให้กับเทศบาลมากขึ้น เพื่อให้สามารถดำเนินการได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

การถ่ายโอน รพ.สต. ควรมอบให้เทศบาลดูแล

นายวัชชพล กล่าวว่า ในปัจจุบัน รพ.สต. ที่ถ่ายโอนไปให้องค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัด (อบจ.) สงขลา มีไม่ถึงครึ่ง เนื่องจากบางแห่งห่างไกลจาก อบจ. ซึ่งตนคิดว่าควรมอบ รพ.สต. ให้เทศบาลดูแลแทน เพราะจะทำให้การเข้าถึงบริการสาธารณสุขของประชาชนดีขึ้น โดยเทศบาลจะสามารถปรับรูปแบบการให้บริการให้สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของชุมชนในพื้นที่ได้ดีกว่า เนื่องจากมีความใกล้ชิดกับประชาชนมากกว่า

I didn't know much about elections, and although it was difficult to learn, I liked it because it was something new."
