เหตุการณ์น่าสะเทือนใจเกิดขึ้นในจังหวัดเชียงราย เมื่อมีรายงานว่า นายอาเซ อายุ 31 ปี ชาวตำบลแม่คำ อำเภอแม่จัน ถูกกล่าวหาว่ากระทำการทารุณกรรมสัตว์โดยไม่มีเหตุอันสมควร หลังจากที่มูลนิธิวอชด็อก ไทยแลนด์ และผู้เสียหายแจ้งความกับตำรวจ ว่านายอาเซได้รับเลี้ยงสุนัขหรือหมาที่เจ้าของนำไปให้เลี้ยง จำนวน 4 ตัว และมีเจ้าของสุนัขรายอื่นๆ ที่ระบุว่านำสุนัขไปฝากนายอาเซเข้ามาแจ้งความเพิ่มเติมอีกด้วย

ตำรวจดำเนินคดีกับผู้ต้องหา

เมื่อวันที่ 15 พฤศจิกายน เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจสถานีตำรวจภูธรแม่จัน จังหวัดเชียงราย นำโดย พ.ต.อ.เกียรติศักดิ์ จิตรประสาร ผู้กำกับการสถานีตำรวจภูธรแม่จัน ได้ดำเนินคดีกับนายอาเซ ในข้อหา "กระทำการอันเป็นการทารุณกรรมสัตว์โดยไม่มีเหตุอันสมควร" หลังจากที่มูลนิธิวอชด็อก ไทยแลนด์ และผู้เสียหาย 2 ราย แจ้งความกับตำรวจ

เจ้าของสุนัขรายอื่นแห่แจ้งความเพิ่ม

ล่าสุดพบว่ามีเจ้าของสุนัขรายอื่นๆ ที่ระบุว่านำสุนัขไปฝากนายอาเซเข้ามาแจ้งความเพิ่มเติมด้วย โดยมูลนิธิวอชด็อก ไทยแลนด์ ได้รับแจ้งจากเจ้าของสุนัขเพิ่มเติมอีก 4 ราย ทำให้ในภาพรวมแล้วมีเจ้าของสุนัขเข้าแจ้งต่อมูลนิธิแล้วรวม 6 ราย

มูลนิธิเตือนเจ้าของสัตว์เลี้ยงต้องรับผิดชอบ

น.ส.สบันงา หัวหน้าฝ่ายกฎหมายมูลนิธิ กล่าวว่า อยากฝากเจ้าของสัตว์เลี้ยงว่าหากจะผลักภาระโดยการนำไปให้คนอื่นเลี้ยงควรคำนึงถึงสัตว์ด้วย เพราะความเป็นไปของสัตว์ขึ้นอยู่กับการตัดสินใจของเรา โดยเฉพาะถ้าเอาไปฝากกับผู้ต้องหารายนี้ เหมือนเป็นการส่งน้องหมาไปตาย เมื่อเกิดเรื่องแล้วมาเสียใจก็ไม่เกิดประโยชน์ มูลนิธิแนะนำให้ตรวจสอบผู้รับเลี้ยงให้ดี ควรนำสัตว์เลี้ยงไปส่งถึงที่ เพื่อจะได้ดูสภาพสถานที่เลี้ยงใหม่ด้วย

ชาวบ้านแสดงความไม่พอใจ

นางอำพร อายุ 65 ปี ชาวบ้านชุมชนเมืองงิม หมู่ 4 ตำบลรอบเวียง อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดเชียงราย ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในกลุ่มคนที่เลี้ยงและรักสุนัข กล่าวว่า เพิ่งทราบข่าวที่เกิดขึ้น รู้สึกตกใจเป็นอย่างมาก รับไม่ได้กับการกระทำแบบนี้ อาหารการกินมีเยอะแยะ ทำไมถึงต้องฆ่าหมาเอาไปกินด้วย อยากให้ผู้เกี่ยวข้องดำเนินการให้เด็ดขาดกับคนก่อเหตุ หรือผู้ที่กระทำทารุณกรรมสัตว์ทั้งนี้ นางอำพรเผยว่า เลี้ยงสุนัขมา 3 ตัว ไม่เคยทำร้าย มีแต่ผูกพัน ไม่ว่าใครก็รักสัตว์เลี้ยงของตนเอง แม้ตนจะไม่เคยให้สุนัขใครไปเลี้ยง แต่ก็เข้าใจถึงความรู้สึกของเจ้าของสุนัขที่ถูกกระทำดี ซึ่งไม่อยากให้เหตุการณ์แบบนี้เกิดขึ้นอีก
