Basic Needs volunteers pick them up approximately once a week, and sometimes more frequently. In November alone, the nonprofit collected 1,435 pounds of food from five different schools. Now, they are collaborating with three more schools and anticipate collecting even more food, including snacks, canned goods, cereal, and fresh fruit.This food will play a crucial role in feeding the 200 people who visit the Basic Needs Food Market each day.
