Tech hosts five Atlantic Coast Conference series, headlined by College World Series participants Virginia (April 25-27) and NCAA Regional champions Clemson (March 28-30), along with Pittsburgh (March 14-16), Cal (April 11-13), and Louisville (May 9-11).The Jackets will also take on five teams who made the NCAA Tournament field in 2024, including Western Michigan, Clemson, Georgia, Virginia, and Duke. And the Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate series against archrival Georgia is always a highlight, with a single game on Tuesday, April 15th at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, to benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
GT will host in-state foes West Georgia (Feb. 26), Kennesaw State (March 4), Georgia State (March 11), Mercer (April 1), and Georgia Southern (May 6). They also play 10 games against programs ranked in the top-20 RPI last season, with six of those games at home and one against UGA at a neutral site at Truist Park.

Shutdown Stoppers
Mason Miller from ATH stands out in this tier with a big edge in ERA, WHIP, and strikeouts compared to others. Edwin Díaz leads in projected saves with a solid xFIP and K% minus BB%. Emmanuel Clase is elite at preventing runs. Félix Bautista is returning from Tommy John and expected to be ready. Andrés Muñoz dealt with elbow soreness but finished strong. Devin Williams has been in trade rumors but his closer job is secure. Ryan Helsley has also been in trade talks. Ryan Walker usurped Camilo Doval to grab the sole control of the closer role. Raisel Iglesias has excellent job security.
These are the fantasy baseball's best relief pitchers, each with plenty of talent and closer job security. However, injury risk and team strategies can affect their performances.
Low Risk Relievers
Ben Joyce was the closer last year but got injured. Fairbanks has been in trade rumors and is expected to recover. Robert Suarez has the most job security but has a not-quite-elite ERA projection. Lucas Erceg was excellent as the closer for Kansas City. Orion Kerkering was blocked last year but now has a chance. Justin Martinez shared saves last year and looks to have the inside job.
This group of pitchers could take the next step or lose their closing roles. Their performances and team situations will determine their futures.
Volatile Velocity
David Bednar took a step back in 2024 with a 5.71 xFIP in the second half. Tanner Scott is one of baseball's best relievers but could jump or fall depending on the team. Alexis Díaz has good job security but a rough ERA projection. Aroldis Chapman is in a fierce competition for the closer job. Michael Kopech was excellent after the Dodgers acquired him but his rate stat projections are underwhelming. Calvin Faucher offers decent projections but got injured.
Job security is a concern in this tier as there are many moves to be made. The right landing spot can make a big difference.
Dicey Dart Throws
Ryan Pressly could find himself back in the closing job depending on where he lands. Kenley Jansen, Kirby Yates, Jordan Romano, Carlos Estévez, and Yimi García are free agents and candidates to close. Liam Hendriks, Evan Phillips, Robert Garcia, Blake Treinen, and A.J. Puk are likely to form part of the closing committee.
Some teams need a closer, and these are the options. But it's difficult to predict who will succeed.
