The efforts of the Columbiettes are truly commendable and demonstrate their commitment to community service.The San Marco Church, with its beautiful Parish Center parking lot, provides the perfect setting for this event. It allows for a convenient and accessible location for both donors and recipients. The $20 parking fee and $10 rental table fee are nominal and help cover the costs associated with organizing such a large-scale event. These funds are then used to purchase and distribute the much-needed food and necessities.
The volunteers involved in this event play a crucial role in making it a success. Their dedication and hard work ensure that everything runs smoothly and that the treasures are distributed to those who need them the most. Without their efforts, this event would not be possible.
Friday: Enjoying a Movie in the Park
The City of Marco Island presents "Movie in the Park" on Friday, Nov. 15. The movie starts at approximately 5:50 p.m. at the soccer field, providing a great opportunity for families and friends to come together and enjoy a fun evening. Bring a blanket or chair to make yourself comfortable and get ready to be entertained by the movie "Soul Surfer".This event is a wonderful addition to the community calendar, offering a free and enjoyable activity for all. It allows residents and visitors to relax and unwind after a long week while also enjoying the beautiful outdoors. The soccer field provides a spacious and comfortable setting for watching the movie.
In addition to the movie, there are often other activities and attractions at the park. It's a great place to socialize with neighbors and make new friends. The City of Marco Island does an excellent job of organizing these events and ensuring that everyone has a great time.
This Weekend: The 6th Annual Rookery Bay Classic Car Show
Car enthusiasts, get ready to rev your engines and join the Friends of Rookery Bay at Florida Southwestern State College for this annual event. Building on the success of previous car shows, the 6th Annual Car Show is set to feature more than 100 antique, classic, muscle, exotic, and high-performance cars. It's a sight to behold and a must-see for any car lover.In addition to the impressive car lineup, there are also 20+ vendors offering a wide range of products and services. From car accessories to food and beverages, there's something for everyone. The entertainment and family/dog-friendly activities add to the overall fun and excitement of the event, making it a great day out for all ages.
The car show takes place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Florida Southwestern State College on Grand Lely Drive, Naples. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 4-12, and children 3 and under are free. Car show admission also includes same-day admission into the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center, providing an opportunity to learn more about the local environment and wildlife.
