The Main Challenge
The creators knew that the main challenge would be to create a convincing young hero. Unlike the rest of the cast in the game, Indy couldn't be created by 3D scanning an actor. Axel Torvenius, the creative director at MachineGames, said, "We didn't have an opportunity to travel back in time and scan a young Harrison Ford." Torvenius further explained that Ford's characterisation was pieced together with the help of unreleased archive material from the original film. "We've been looking at photos of Harrison Ford to ensure that we hit the correct facial features he had at that time. Having access to their archive has been invaluable in creating the 3D mesh of Indiana Jones' character."The Game Development
The game took four years to develop. It sees the archaeologist solving puzzles while getting involved in chases and fights. Set in 1937, it follows Indy from the Vatican to China via Egypt as he pursues a mysterious power coveted by Nazi spies. "The Great Circle" is not the first game to tackle Indy's story. Over the last four decades, more than a dozen adaptations have been made. The Swedish studio felt a huge responsibility to get the game right, knowing how protective gamers can be over titles they grew up with. Torvenius said, "The pressure has been immense." That's going to go a long ways, so that was a big, welcomed surprise."Simpson further added that his family learned last month that they were selected to shop with the cops. Seeing his kids feel joy filled his heart with happiness. He said, "They’ve (Wyatt and Colton) just been so excited in looking forward to it and tonight was pretty, pretty amazing."The funding for this event comes from the department's Volunteers in Police Service's annual spring golf outing.
