Việc lạm dụng xoa bóp có thể gây thương tật nhất thời hay vĩnh viễn."Nhiều người thấy đau, tê, nhức mỏi thì thường đi xoa bóp, nhờ người khác xoa bóp. Thời gian một lần làm xoa bóp đối với toàn thân khoảng 60 phút. Nếu xoa bóp từng bộ phận có thể làm từ 10 đến 15 phút.
