O projeto “Memórias da Saúde Mental: Cultura, Comunicação e Direitos Humanos” tem como principal objetivo a criação e divulgação de conhecimentos históricos acerca da Reforma Psiquiátrica no Brasil. Desenvolvido pelo Núcleo de Saúde Mental, Álcool e Outras Drogas (Nusmad) em parceria com a TV Pinel, este esforço lança agora uma série audiovisual intitulada “Cadernos da Reforma Psiquiátrica Brasileira”. Esta série busca ampliar o entendimento público sobre as mudanças nas políticas de saúde mental, documentando e salvaguardando experiências significativas de profissionais e usuários que viveram a desinstitucionalização psiquiátrica.
A iniciativa se concentra na produção de um rico acervo multimídia composto por testemunhos que iluminam os avanços e desafios enfrentados durante a reforma psiquiátrica. Um dos destaques é a entrevista concedida por Sônia Barros, diretora do Departamento de Saúde Mental, Álcool e Outras Drogas (Desmad), em setembro de 2023. Dividida em três partes, esta conversa explora profundamente a evolução das práticas de saúde mental no país desde a década de 1970 até os dias atuais.
A primeira parte da entrevista traça um panorama histórico das políticas de saúde mental entre as décadas de 1970 e 1990. Em seguida, são abordadas as transformações ocorridas entre os anos 1990 e 2000, destacando-se a articulação entre ensino, prática e gestão pública. Finalmente, a terceira parte enfoca a importância dos diálogos teóricos com a prática cotidiana, bem como os desafios da implementação da reabilitação psicossocial integrada ao universo acadêmico e à assistência pública.
Este trabalho não só contribui para a preservação da memória da Reforma Psiquiátrica Brasileira, mas também fortalece o direito à saúde mental e à cidadania. A pesquisa longitudinal, iniciada em 2017, prioriza os dispositivos das políticas públicas contemporâneas de Saúde Mental e seus impactos na garantia de Direitos Humanos. Este acervo multimídia, depositado no Arca Dados da Fiocruz desde 2020, é uma importante fonte para diálogos em comunidades técnico-científicas e disciplinas do Mestrado em Políticas Públicas em Saúde. A série “Cadernos da Reforma Psiquiátrica Brasileira” oferece uma visão detalhada e emocionante sobre um período crucial da história da saúde mental no Brasil, destacando as conquistas e lutas de profissionais dedicados a essa causa.
